Les Voiles d'Antibes
Les Voiles d'Antibes, organised every year around the first week of June, marks the opening of the Mediterranean circuit for Tradition Yachts and Metric Classes.
Organised at the very beginning of the season, Les Voiles d'Antibes welcomes each year a selection of the most beautiful Yachts of the Era (built before 1950), Classic Yachts (built before 1976) and Esprit de Tradition Yachts as well as the Metric Classes (6 MJI, 8MJI and the 12 MJI competing in America's Cup from 1958 to 1987), which have shaped the great history of International Yachting since the end of the 19th century.
For most of the participants, this prestigious gathering represents the first major event of the Mediterranean season. Once spring returns, the boats returned to their home ports in the Mediterranean. Some have undergone renovations and modernization to optimize their performance, others have been sold or changed crews. As a result, the participants are renewed each year around a hardcore of mythical boats such as Ikra, Sovereign, Thendara, Lelantina, Outlaw, Adria, Cambria or Tuiga, which have long been present at all the regattas.
Appreciated for the quality of its regattas, Les Voiles d'Antibes is without a doubt one of the flagship events of the Mediterranean circuit. But Les Voiles d'Antibes is also in the purest tradition of Yachting, with 5 days of entertainment and conviviality back onshore. The welcome ashore is certainly the warmest on the circuit. Organised around a village designed on the theme of celebration and conviviality. Antibes, famous all over the world for its Jazz festival, had to combine music and sailing. Every day from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm there are numerous exhibitions and events on the themes of the Sea and the Environment, but also cocktails, concerts, parades and many other surprises and challenges which every evening bring joy and good humour to the Village des Voiles and the Port Vauban, Europe's leading marina.
Note: The 25th edition of the Voiles d'Antibes scheduled from June 3 to 7, 2020 has been postponed from September 16 to 20, 2020 and we will keep you posted on this page if this changes.
