From November to January, fall under the Yuletide spell of Edinburgh's Christmas. Just imagine: fairy lights twinkling in the trees; bustling markets selling all kinds of festive goodies; and warm drinks and delicacies from our fellow European partners.
Starting on the 23rd November and closing on the 4th January Edinburgh's Christmas is a spectacular, six-week season of festive entertainment in the heart of the city centre. Throughout Edinburgh, a fantastic programme of affordable events is always planned to keep you entertained during your visit.
The ice rink, overlooking the Scott Monument, will be back in East Princes Street, while Santa Land - including the train and grotto will be back in the bottom of Princes street gardens. The Big Wheel, enjoyed by 120,000 people last year, will be festooned with 20,000 lights to add to the stunning vista of the Christmas festival. The European Christmas Market will be back in Princes Street Gardens and the Mound, with 106 stalls offering a selection of foods, drinks and crafts from our European neighbours who are always welcomed with a friendly smile in Scotland's capital city.
